Membership

Applications for ISFNR membership can be submitted at any time and will be considered twice a year, in June and December. New members accepted by the committee will receive a message welcoming them to the Society along with information about membership fees and benefits. As per statutes of the ISFNR, the official announcement of new members will be made at the next ISFNR General Assembly.

A complete application consists of a completed application form along with 1) a short biography (5-6 lines) containing details of your present academic position (students and other interested parties: outline your present field and level of study, or academic background); key publications (if any); and your main fields of research/ interest relating to folk narrative; and 2) a CV listing any publications, theses, and/or conference presentations in folk-narrative.

All of these should be sent to Terry Gunnell, Chairperson of the ISFNR Membership Committee at terry@hi.is, with copies to the Society’s President (Sadhana Naithani at isfnrpresident@gmail.com) and the Secretary (Nidhi Mathur at nidhimathur42@yahoo.com)

It is also helpful to send two recent abstracts that are representative of the applicant’s scholarship. Any offprints, however, should be sent to Society’s President for an ISFNR library/archive.

If you have any ISFNR Membership questions, please contact directly the chair of the Membership Committee, Prof. Terry Gunnell (terry@hi.is).

We now accept new members four times every year: in June, October, December, and March.
